Type + Image integration

My process to create the poster design first started with photographs from my past summer in NYC. I was inspired by the taunting tall buildings and unique angles of architecture. I then choose a sum of black & White photos along with some typefaces to print on paper.

Once gathering my materials, I cut the photos and typefaces into fragments. From there I began to piece together 4 different collages each including some photo and typeface fragments. After choosing one collage to go with, I then uploaded my collage into adobe illustrator and began to brainstorm an event concept. Once deciding my event of choice I integrated color and meaningful text.
